Netflare Announces the Launch of a New Class of Website...
These last few weeks have been a bit of a blurr for me.Â
I'm so used to committing myself to produce something for clients - when I don't even know if the technology exists yet - I've got a bit numb to it all. But the barcham trees website encompasses all the new stuff Netflare has developed ... and some.
The trademark of a Netflare website is that it uses a concept called taxonomy to organise the pages on a website. A website that uses taxonomy means that you can present the most relevant pages to the user while they navigate around the site. This means that the traditional style of using static menus is redundant.
Barcham.co.uk has over 2000 pages and contains information for over 400 tree species. Each tree is categorised using 10 different taxonomies, meaning you can connect trees by genus,  growth rate, tree features, seasons of interest, shape, size, soil type, tree type, tolerances and tree uses.
The new stuff on the site is:
- tree selector on homepage
- image preview on homepageÂ
- automatic pdf generation for each tree
- rotating tree flash movie on selected trees
- recently visited pages
- dynamic related links accordion / scrollable area
- accordion news
- events calendar
- blog
- forum
- twitter / facebook connection
- full ecommerce with bulk purchase discounts and product specific coupons
