The Boldoak Website has been updated to truly reflect the range of work we have become involved in over the past 2 years. To give a flavour of the range of projects we are now working on please see the highlights of the first half of 2008 which are listed below:-
1) Facilitating IDEAS (Identify Develop Evaluate and Action Sessions) events with the management team of half a dozen or so companies. These are almost always focussed on how to generate a significant increase in sales over the next 12-18 months whilst keeping a firm eye on profitability. IDEAS events are always exciting, thought provoking days, which always generate some interesting and surprising output leaving everyone feeling well motivated for the challenge ahead.
2) Developing a Directors sales skills. This has involved developing and supporting the MD in the sales process (including being involved in a high level meeting about a huge potential contract) for a technically excellent, but lacking sales experience, scientific instrument manufacturer.
3) Training an experienced, but stale, heavy engineering sales team on “The Profit Pipeline”. The change in attitude together with the increased openness to new ideas and thoughts at the end of the two day session was very rewarding.
4) Developing the partnership between Boldoak and The Mercantile Group (http://www.mercantile-group.com/) providing sales expertise to their customer base and also experience in managing change, especially of a financial nature, to the Boldoak customer base. It has been a real eye opener to me to learn and understand how complex the situations directors of SME’s can find themselves in especially when there is disagreement on how to move the business forward.
5) Working with a UK manufacturer supporting some challenging, difficult and unexpected changes in their distribution network.
6) Speaking to the Essex University Student Entrepreneurs on “Supersizing your Sales”, the enthusiasm for their ideas was immense and refreshing.
7) Europartners Consultants, working on the annual report and the preparations for the Forum in Paris in September.
8) Taking on a part time role as world wide sales manager for an audio company which was Boldoak’s biggest customer in 2007 and whose business increased by more than 50% in 12 months.
