When Chris Thomas suggested that a visit to one of the Toastmasters meetings would be something that may be of interest to myself , I was quite keen to go but faltered at the last moment of commitment as I felt awkward at walking in by my self ,so when I mentioned the meeting to my good friend & business coolegue (& soon to be new HBN member!) Jeanette Standon she was enthusiastic to go as long as I went with her .

Last Wednesday 6th. of Feb. in we both walked in to the restaurant at the Black Bull Godmanchester,not having a clue what to expect, we were greeted with the utmost warmth & friendliness by the members which which included  several HBNers. so we knew plenty of people already.The evening flowed by in an array of fascinating dialogues , some prepared & very skilled & some completly impromptue but nonthe less entertaining .Jeanette & I were under no pressure to speak other than introduce ourselves & give an opinion of the proceedings.We both enjoyed ourselves & can highly recommend a visit to anyone who is thinking about speaking in public or just enjoys listening to others doing it !
