HBN Website Training at Saxongate
Interactive training ensures better understanding of how to use website

The new HBN website has been a long time coming because this time we wanted to have an enhanced usability for members. As Jon Beal of Netflare and member of the HBN Committee stated categorically at the HBN meeting this Friday 14h Sept 07

"We designed the site so that any member could enter their news, information and articles easily rather than include restrictions right from the start; If problems arise, we will then tackle the issues and find solutions!"

Eleven of us hot-footed over to the Saxongate centre where Amelia Hodson had kindly allowed us to use their excellent IT room. With each one of us having a terminal, we were taken through logging in and on to the extended exercise of changing our personal data as well as practicing writing an article for the website.

Mostly, the system was fairly easy to use; the system had been designed with the expectation of providing more choice initially which led to some confusion. The beauty of the interactive session was that Jon and Ann were on hand to help and a comments board for improvements was circulated.

The fact that this news item and articles already written by other participants are appearing on site are testament to the new functionality! Jon has also provided a set of help articles that will expand with each query submitted.

No member details or articles etcetera have been carried over from the old site due to redundancy, changes and simply not knowing what was current or out of date. YOU therefore have an unrivalled opportunity to enter relevant and up to date content relating to your activities

Contact Jon Beal now by e-mail to receive your member login and provisional password and then get cracking putting in your profile, news and articles!
