Like any sensible business, BlueTree takes great care to backup its data and protect itself from viruses and other hazards. However, what no one can protect against is random data corruption, which struck at BlueTree earlier this week. A multi-page Word document that Graham had created, saved and backed up simply refused to open. It could be copied, moved and its properties checked, but nothing would persuade it to open. The text would have taken hours to recreate. Happily, on this occasion this was not necessary, thanks to Terry Downing of Wisdom Communications Ltd.
Terry is retained as BlueTree's IT consultant and advises on hardware, software and strategy. It took him just a few minutes to find a simple solution that recovered the text from the corrupted document and saved Graham hours of work. Many thanks, Terry
